karu:3 / gos016, CD (cardboard)
12 audio tracks, (p) 2005

A tribute to Rafael Toral...

35 Mutant Seconds is the second instalment in the Grain of Sound's Mutant series, as well as the second co-release involving both Baskaru and Grain of Sound.

All the artists featured on this album were invited to create a work by using Rafael Toral's track Creamy Burst as the only sound source.
Creamy Burst was composed in 1994 and was originally released on the portuguese rock compilation "100%".

Featuring sonic reconstructions from Rafael Toral, Richard Chartier, ENT, Ian Epps, John Kannenberg, Stapletape, @C, Kim Cascone, Sawako, Blake Stickland, Pita, and Allto.

35 Mutant Seconds is co-edited by Baskaru and Grain of Sound.

Press reviews

Nothing disappoints on "35 Mutant Seconds" and the programming of the tracks is unusually deft.
THE WIRE, November 2005

This is a pretty decent compilation, which lives up to it's expectations.
VITAL WEEKLY, September 2005

Bref la crème de la crème pour un ensemble austère et pointu.
AUTRES DIRECTIONS, July 2005

Ci troviamo quindi al cospetto di una produzione accurata e misurata, e ne valeva veramente la pena.
